This page explains what MAZI collects and how it's used. For any question about it or your data, email constantinegonias@gmail.com.
What we collect
Your account. Your name, email address and profile photo, from Google or the sign-up form.
What you do on MAZI. The events you save or mark as going, the churches and organizations you follow, your notifications and your notification settings.
Events you submit. The flyer, the event details and the fact that you submitted them. A flyer image gets a public web address as soon as you upload it, before anyone reviews it.
Notifications. If you turn on phone or browser notifications, we keep the address your browser gives us for delivering them.
Google user data
What we get. If you choose Continue with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile photo with MAZI, and nothing else. MAZI never sees your Gmail, contacts, calendar, Drive or any other Google data.
How we use it. To create your account and sign you in, and to greet you by name. Your email address identifies your account and lets you sign in again. We keep your profile photo with your account but don't show it to anyone.
Where it's stored. Clerk stores it to run sign-in, and our Neon database keeps a copy with your account.
Who it's shared with. Nobody beyond Clerk and Neon, who hold it only to run MAZI. We don't sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or transfer it to anyone else.
Keeping and deleting it. We keep it while you have an account and delete it within 30 days when you ask, as described under Keeping and deleting your data below. You can also remove MAZI's access at any time in your Google Account, under Security, Third-party apps and services.
Your location
We show events near you. Vercel tells us your approximate city from your internet address on each visit, and we don't save it to your account.
If you pick a city, we remember it in a cookie on your device for a year. If you press Use my location, your browser asks your permission first. Your position then goes to Mapbox to find the nearest place name, and the cookie keeps it rounded to about a kilometer.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your location choice. We don't use advertising cookies.
Visitor counts
Vercel Web Analytics and GoatCounter show us how many people visit, which pages they open, the site they came from, and their browser, device type and country. Neither one sets cookies or tells us who you are.
Who handles your data
These companies run parts of MAZI and handle data for those jobs:
- Clerk: sign-in and accounts
- Google: sign-in, if you choose Continue with Google
- Vercel: hosting, flyer storage, visitor counts and your approximate location
- GoatCounter: visitor counts
- Neon: the database
- Mapbox: maps and the place search
- US Census Bureau: finding map locations for event addresses
- Your browser's push service: delivering notifications, if you turn them on
We don't sell your data or show ads based on it.
This product uses the Census Bureau Data API but is not endorsed or certified by the Census Bureau.
What other people can see
Published listings are public, including their flyers. Your saves, your going list and the churches and organizations you follow are private. Event pages do show how many people are going, but not who they are. Your personal calendar feed has a private link, so anyone you give that link to can read it.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while you have an account. To delete your account, email constantinegonias@gmail.com from the address you signed up with, and we'll delete it within 30 days. That removes your name, email address and photo from MAZI and Clerk, along with your saves, follows, notifications and notification settings.
Listings you submitted can stay on MAZI without your name attached. Ask us if you want one taken down.
How we protect your data
MAZI only works over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Passwords and sign-in are handled by Clerk, so MAZI never sees or stores your password. Only MAZI's administrators can see account details.
Children
MAZI isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this page, we'll update the date at the top.
